Unisex and Accessible Bathroom Facilties at MSU

"An important aspect of diversity is that options made available to a particular group often benefit others as well," is how Ohio State University frames their policy to require the inclusion of unisex/family restrooms in all new buildings on their campus.

"Parents can use the facilities to assist young children in the restroom without having to use single-sex restrooms utilized by non-family members. A female student on campus will be able to assist her male partner with a disability in the privacy of a single-use facility. And for transgender students, having a unisex bathroom available allows the use of facilities without the issues that result from using community single-sex rooms."

The table shows the number of unisex bathrooms in each MSU campus location, and how many of these are accessible. (There may be additional accessible bathroom facilities that are not unisex at these locations.) There is an online campus map you can use to locate buildings, and a barrier-free access web page that has an accessibility map that may be useful.
